My skin turns into a nightmare in the winter. It gets dry, but if I use the wrong moisturizer it breaks out and becomes oily or doesn’t get moisturized whatsoever. Lack of vitamin D from being out in the sunshine has killed any sort of summer glow, so I do what I can to look halfway alive. Also, riding in the cold requires lots of motivation. I’ve somewhat mastered the right layering skills to keep me from looking like a marshmallow. So… here are my current favorites:
Beauty
Glossier
The Lash Slick mascara ($16) is fiber-based, which I’m a fan of. Teeny-tiny fibers coat lashes from root to tip to create a lengthened baby-extension, while flexible film-forming polymers lift and lock each fiber into place. It lasts throughout my entire day no matter if I’m working or riding. AND it’s water-resistant, so it washes off super easy with warm water. Yes please.
Balmdotcom ($12) is a hydrating, long-lasting, multipurpose lip balm and skin salve that’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, chafed skin. I’ve only used it on my lips because I got the rose version – it has a SLIGHT pink tint but is honestly barely there. If you don’t like a rose scent, this probably isn’t for you, but I just ordered birthday cake and am kind of super excited for that yumminess to get here. It also comes in a few other tints and flavors.
The priming moisturizer ($22) does one of my fav things: minimizes the appearance of pores without creating a greasy heavy base. It also has an anti-redness complex that soothes evens skin tone, leaving a clean, dewy & balanced finish. You can layer and build up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on what your skin is needing on any particular day.

Belif
The True Cream Aqua Bomb ($38) is what I use when my skin really needs a dose of moisture in addition to every night before bed. It’s best for normal, oily AND combination skin… so basically everyone. It’s super lightweight, oil-free and goes on like a silky smooth gel. I am super picky about my moisturizers but this is one I’m going to keep on hand 24/7 from here on out. It’s also gentle enough to use on and under eyes. Buy it here.
La Roche-Posay
Ultra-Fine Face Scrub for Sensitive Skin ($18) is what I use 3x a week to keep my skin exfoliated and happy. The exfoliating component is very mild so if you have sensitive skin like me this is a safe one to try. Buy it here.
Mario Badescu
Drying Lotion ($14) is my secret weapon when unwelcome pimples decide to pay a visit. Just stick a q-tip into the bottle, cover any problem spots with the pink magic stuff and go to sleep. In the morning you’ll be amazed. Buy it here.
Riding/Gym Apparel
Amazon
The basest of base layers… are these undies which I ride and workout in everyday. I had so many people DM me for the link… so here you go. They’re inexpensive, super comfortable, don’t stretch out after lots of washing and most importantly… don’t cause VLP. Get a 6 pack ($23) here.
ROMFH
The Sarafina Euro Grip breeches ($170) are my new obsession. They have an awesome mid but not high rise fit like my favorite Animo’s but are half the price. The material is lululemon-esq soft and the stretch is what dreams are made of. I have a pair in sand for showing and just ordered them in Wood as well. They are literally sold out everywhere online (in my size) but here.
Roeckl
Roeckl’s winter grip riding gloves ($55) are the only ones I really wear unless it’s below twenty degrees F. By then I’m usually switching to skiing gloves and not riding! I like them because they aren’t bulky and have a nice soft lining. I show and hack in these when the temp drops – I love how versatile they are and how they run true to size and don’t stretch out too badly after a ton of use. Buy them here.
Dublin
Apparently another name for an infinity scarf is snood. Anyways, this snood by Dublin ($28) is the coziest, softest & warmest accessory that I love riding in on chilly days. Buy it here.
Rambo
I love this quarter sheet by Rambo ($95) because it doesn’t go under your saddle but rather around it – the sheet secures by running it under your saddle flaps and velcro-ing on top in front of the pommel. No slipping or shifting and easy on & off in case you want to remove it halfway through your ride. Buy it here.
